Imagine searching 10,000 digitized objects from the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) collection online, any time of day.
Now you can do just that.
ROM recently announced the launch of the digital collection, an online presentation of objects from the Museum’s encyclopedic collection of art, culture and nature.
Students can now explore, discover and research this collection from anywhere.
Using the simple search tool, students, educators and families can search for specific objects, view images, and create and share their own personal collections. Search by keyword, location, timeline or subject area to find thousands of objects, including pieces that are not currently on display in the galleries.
The collection is expected to grow from 10,000 to 80,000 objects in the next five years as the Museum’s team of photographers continue to catalogue the ROM’s extensive collection, and as new objects are acquired.
